Community Peer Application Process for 2024/2025 School Year

Thank you for your interest in the Sharon Public Schools preschool program! We are the only public preschool in our town. Our program is integrated with students with and without disabilities in an inclusive environment where everyone belongs!

All community peers, students without disabilities, must be 3 years old by August 31 and be a resident of the town of Sharon. Community peers enrolled in our program have the unique opportunity to interact and learn with peers with disabilities. This provides an experience of acceptance, belonging, and respect. Our preschool takes extraordinary pride in the diversity of our community and the benefits extended to all learners - with and without disabilities.  We will use a lottery process for the 2024-2025 school year for our community peers.

Timeline

• November/December 2023 - Preschool Preview or Tours and Informational Sessions

• Applications will be distributed at Preschool Preview and Tour/Info Sessions

• December 18, 2023 - Applications due

• December 20, 2023 - Lottery drawing and email notification of results

• If not chosen in lottery drawing, added to wait list for 2024/2025 school year (please note: wait list does not carry over year to year)

• Spring 2024 - Peek & Play for new students at The Children’s Center (details to follow)

If you are interested in having your child attend The Children’s Center, please sign up for Preschool Preview by calling The Children’s Center at 781-784-1594. Preschool Preview is a time for parents and children to visit our program together. However, if you are unable to attend the Preschool Preview scheduled for November 9, alternate tour/info sessions are available as posted below. Please note, the tours/informational sessions are intended for primary caregivers (maximum 2 people) and not for children. Advance registration for any of these dates is required. Please call 781-784-1594 to register for one of the following dates.

• Thursday, November 9, 1:30 - 2:00 pm (Preschool Preview for Parents and Children) or
• Monday, November 20, 9:30 - 10:00 am (Tour/Info Session for Parents only; please don't bring your child) or
• Monday, December 11, 9:30 - 10:00 am (Tour/Info Session for Parents only; please don't bring your child)

Application

After joining us for Preschool Preview or a tour/information session, you will be provided with an application. The application provides you with the opportunity to share your preferences for your child’s session. This school year the sessions are:

Half-Day Morning: Monday-Friday from 8:40-11:15

Half-Day Afternoon: Monday-Friday from 12:15-2:50

Full-Day: Monday-Friday from 8:40-2:50

Tuition for the current (2023-2024) school year is listed below.  Any increase in tuition for the 2024-2025 school year will be confirmed by spring 2024.
